i have never seen a DIY project on water pump.

i have seen a lot of DIY projects on stand, tank, sump, light, carbon/gfo reactors projects and DIY filter socks, sock holder....frag rack holder...
I have not seen anyone doing a DIY project on a water pump. have you?

I could see retrofitting a external motor and making a custom housing for the impeller. I can't think of a good solid submersible DIY pump.

I mean I guess it could be done but it would take a wealth of knowledge of CNC, 3D printing, lathing, electronics, tolerances and so forth. It probably wouldn't be cost effective over similar priced pumps which is why it probably hasn't been done
