I just realized my reef is 44 years old this month.

She is slightly fat. She is larger today and tomorrow she will be more pregnant. I think she is almost ready to give birth but I am not a fish obstetrician so I can't be sure

Thats what we call an evolutionary cycling process. Most will be done in 35 years, but Paul likes to take things slow.

I think it cycled last tuesday. I hope to get to the boat this week (if it is in the water) because I want to collect some bacteria. I didn't collect any all winter because the bay was frozen.

Last night was the best fireworks display for me personally (since the By Centinial)

We were anchored out in a bay in the Long Island Sound about 100 yards from the fireworks barge so they exploded over our heads. Our closest, life long friends were with us, But the best part is that from there, we could see Manhattan, Queens the Bronx, Connecticut and Long island so we were completely surrounded by fireworks besides the ones over our heads. At the end I blasted "God Bless America" and all the boats blow their horns. There were quite a few boats and thousands of spectators on the shores. Of course I got stopped by the Coast Guard on my way beck because one of my navigation lights went out, but I replaced the bulb in a few minutes and all is well. I hope everyone had a great time.

Don't forget your hammer; looks like you left it in the tank at some point lol

Great way to stick with this and you started when so many things were still unknown about this hobby. You are a true pioneer on the page

It is an amazing achievemeant in reefing longevity. Hope my tank makes it to 45 years old. I'm gonna add some dolomite to it, maybe. Pretty cool.

Wow, lot of pregnant fish, must be something romantic going on in your tank. Actually it speaks volumes about the health of your fish.

Kudos, Paul.

Thanks, I add Viagra to their food. OK, no I don't. I wonder what that would do?

Once a year or so I stir everything up with a diatom filter and suck out everything.
...

Gee Paul what's a diatom filter?

or for that matter a vortex?

Betcha got a couple of silent giants also. For all you newbies that is not the current day water pumps. But Paul know what they are.

Congratuts for having one tank run that long. I had to keep moving in the air force so tanks only lasted 7-8 years or so. But then I'm just an inexperienced newbie using "unproven experimental" methods.
