I’m trying to make a solution with both to dose with one pump. I mixed 6.6g ammonium bicarbonate and 1.1g trisodium phosphate into 250ml of RODI water. The solution is very cloudy, not like when I mix the separately. 1ml of this gives me approximately 0.2ppm ammonia and 0.1ppm phosphate into my nano.

Will it be ok to dose these together, or will I need a separate pump for N and P?

There is also a very fine, whiteish powder that seems to be precipitating out and coating the bottom of the container.

I’ve been thinking of doing this. Thanks for reporting your observations.

I’m not sure what the solids would be. I’d still use it.
This may be the first time that I got the same answer as RHF reported. I may be learning something finally.

Truth is I would use it since Randy would…

Yes. No precipitate when I mixed them separately. I checked this morning, and the solution is clear, bit there is white powder on the bottom. I’m going to move forward with it today. It has an ammonia smell so…

Sounds good!

Oh, your ammonia smell just triggered a thought. I think I have mono sodium phosphate at home. Will have to look. I know TSP is pretty basic so the ammonia solubility will be lower. Not sure if it will impact your potency enough to matter.

Sodium phosphate may be acidic so I felt better about mixing them

The monosodium is a better choice for holding the ammonia in the water (pH is lower).
