I have a Red Sea MAX 130d that has been here for well over a decade.

I was feeling around the edges of the aquarium stand, just underneath the rim of the board where the aquarium rests.
I just noticed last night there's some raised edges on rounded corners underside.

It's maybe a millimeter or two on the edge underneath. There's a similar spot on the very corner near the back. I decided to run my finger across the whole underside and found there were similar little distortions on the underside of the edge in small spots. These spots appear to only be on the very edges.

I guess what I'm wondering here is how screwed am I exactly?

I can't afford a new stand right now and I don't even think I can find this particular one anymore. What sort of danger of catastrophic failure is there here?

The legs/feet of the stand are totally fine, this seems to be relegated to that thick board ontop to which the aquarium sits.

Here's some pictures for reference.

That does not look too bad, just at the edge. I wouldn't sweat it. If the bulging got anywhere close to any joints, that would be a different story.

Damage appears to be minor, some delamination and swelling of the particle board.

I don’t suppose you can see inside the stand.

Is this too close? This is at the back. Similar situation but no buldging. The black material peeling at that corner. But you can see where the piece below meets.

No, that is fine. Bulging in the vertical members or if that one was to carry into the actual joint and cause it to change dimensions at all would be where worry would be warranted.
