Hello Reef2reef members, I'm new here only to see if I can get help rehoming or selling my fish and corals before I break down my tank. However I do not have enough privileges to post in the selling forum. I'm not experienced in shipping enough so I'm hoping to get help locally. I am located in Lakeside Montana. Could you help me and point me in the right direction how to get privileges to post to the right forum? I'm struggling to find a platform to end my beautiful hobby as many social sites like FB do not allow posting livestock.

You need to make significant posts and at least 20 of them utilizing conversation, not just " hello or "i agree" as examples. While we have a marketplace forum, out mission is educating reefers and not a want-ad vision. Consider ebay and Facebook marketplace in this instance

Find a local FB saltwater group and sell it as "fake" coral. It's done all the time in the Chicago market.

Personally I would try to give everything to someone that is interested in getting into the hobby or donate it a LFS. I've always found it easier to give stuff away vs the hassle of selling unless you have high end gear or very rare or expensive fish.

Okay thank you for your advice. I tried FB but in the rules they always state explicitly no selling or rehoming of livestock. I would have to drive and donate to my local lfs which I do not mind but it is a two hour drive. There is just nothing in my region so I was hoping there might be some reefers on this forum in my area, but it was always a longshot.

First, welcome to R2R, even if it's a sad reason you are here.
If we can't help you with any issues with your tank, we can make suggestions.
Ok, here is the deal with selling stuff here.
You have to be a member for more than 30 days and have 25 actual posts.
You can sell on Facebook, but you have to disguise your ad.
You have to say "Fake Coral" , then post a picture of what you are selling.
It's done over and over.


Maybe we help with the issues you are having with the tank?
