I spoiled Hewbie too much!

Over the years Hewbie learned I open his shells for him because this used to be the only way he would eat mussels and cockles. It isn’t that he can’t open/crunch them he knows I will! I have some regrets over the years for spoiling him too much lol. I’m like dude you have a beak you are meant to crunch things and he looks at me like, “Can you open this for me I can’t do it…see watch I bite it and it doesn’t open!” EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS! DARN IT! THOSE EYES ARE SO CUTE AND I CAVE!

I say this because the fish store ordered shelled cockles (which was the not right and not what the invoice they reflected to me was). I was afraid this would happen because it happened before and I even offered the UPC and said red packaging! The orange ones are a pain in the butt to open. Ugh! Rant over lol. The things I do for this fish! OMG!!!

Me too! He is still getting there. This is him the other day. He loves crabs as well. And I have spent a ton of money on buying all the foods I know he liked before this happened. And he is still not as interested or as excited about food like he used to be…he also loves to be picky. I remind him constantly that he can’t live/thrive on a shrimp only diet. He doesn’t listen. He also loves a specific food one day and refuses to eat it the next. He has learned to take advantage of me over the years lol. I call it protesting until I offer the food he is in the mood for that night!

I also recall that if you steam them for a few minutes they will pop open without having to pry on them, but I bet Hewbie wouldn’t eat them without Alfredo sauce if you cook them?

Probably not lol! Also cooked foods are not good for him even if they are plain. It cooks off and changes all the good stuff for him. Yummy and good for us bad for our fish friends.
