Which would you choose between an I-tech 100 skimmer w/Aquabee pump and an SCW 150BMK skimmer (which I would be purchasing from Luke at reeffiltration.com)? The I-tech is used but I know the guy who has it and he takes good care of his equipment. The SCW is brand new, both skimmers are being sold for $200. Whichever one I get will be used on my 40g breeder with 20g sump. The bottom line is I need whichever skimmer I purchase to last me a long while and even possibly handle a larger system as I have my 1st child on the way and won't be able to afford many (if any at all) future upgrades :).

FYI, Luke sold me on the SWC 150 BMK. It is rater for 100g with a heavy bioload. I expect mine in the mail tomorrow. I also will have a 40b w/ 20g sump.

Either or will work just fine for that tank. If you ran them next to each other side by side i'd say the itech will produce around 20% more skimmate if there is enough bioload. The transition is just better on a cone. Only con of the itech is no warranty.

Yup Luke, that and I already know your customer service is great! Above all I just want to make sure I make an informed choice ;).

I have an I-Tech 100. I bought it used and had an bolt that broke during shipment from the original owner. I contacted I-Tech and they fixed it @ no cost to me. Then Just recently I had an issue with my Tunze pump. The outer coating for the wires was pulling away from the motor block. Which was exposing the Green/ white wires. I contacted Tunze and explained to them I bought the pump used with an I-Tech 100 skimmer. They said send it in and they replaced the motor block. I am back in business. In my experience BOTH companies stood behind their product and I am not even the original owner. I did not even produce any proof of purchase or receipts. Although I could track whom I bought the skimmer from. I would highly recommend purchasing an I-Tech. Heck I am the second owner of the skimmer and they are still standing behind their products. This is Great!!!!!

Thank you all who have replied. My decision has been made...I am going with the SWC150 BMK. Actually my decision was made for me as another member of our reef club bought the I-Tech :). That being said I was still completely on the fence about which one to get but they are both excellent skimmers and I'm sure I will be just as happy with the SWC as the guy who bought the I-tech. Again, thank you all for helping me ponder this decision...Happy Reefkeeping!!!
