I think my clowns are scared...?

So my skimmer hangs off the side of my tank and makes a lot of bubbles I try and reduce the bubbles and when I have done this it seems like my clowns come out more and are less scared to come out of the Varner that has very little flow is this a thing or are my clowns just scared still

It's common for clowns to hang around in the same spot, they're not usually the swim around the tank type. My clowns don't like high flow either, & rarely come out of the corner.

I changed them for a larger maroon clown that I absolutely adore and he loves the flow and her anemones
