i think there is a worm on my GSP

there is this weird white thing growing out of my GSP and my LFS gave it to me for free. i could have sworn there was a little worm that came out the side of it but i cant see it any more. can anybody comfirm? ill try and take a better picture when my tank comes on

Impossible to tell from your info and photo. But I wouldn't worry too much about it. Most tanks have things living in them that we are unaware of. Many of them can even be beneficial.
