Hey everyone here is the thread to my SPS tank I started on 9/4/2025. This first post will be a quick overview of the tank and system and gear I’ve got running for the initial cycle.

Tank and stand
Ice Cap 20 AIO

Filtration and media
In tank media waterbox 20 filter basket
AF filter floss
Chemo pure elite
Maxspect nano spheres

Heater and controller
EHIEM 75 watt with INKBIRD controller

Pumps
Return upgraded to success syncra 1.0
In tank flow for now is a single Nero 3 will add another once I start adding corals

Lights
Still torn between the two AI primes I have it a reef breeders meridian 11. Got a par meter coming tomorrow so I’ll do a par test with my AI lights see what they’re pushing out on Zagsby spectrum

ATO
Reef breeders ATO

Skimmer
Bubble magus Q nano skimmer
Rock
20lbs of Life rock

Sand
20lbs of Fiji pink

Cycle
DR Tim’s one and only with ammonia chloride as a kick starter


For livestock
Still debating on what fish and how many fish but tank will be SPS dominant with maybe a favia or two on the sand bed. Might try to do a clam

Nice setup! I would suggest to not put a clam in this small tank. Otherwise I can suggest to add some Clowns and maybe a Gobidon historia / okinawae?
I might add the clam to my Red Sea xxl but don’t think the Red Sea 60 leds pack enough punch, considering upgrading my Red Sea tank lights by next year to either two radions or reef breeders merderisn 35
