Hey all, Setting up a 40B as a frag tank. Was thinking of using an Icecap 2K Gyre. Perhaps placed on one end? I don’t have any experience with this pump. Will this be enough flow or should I get a second pump? Placement suggestions would be great as well.

Thx!!

I use 2 of those on my 40b set at 30%-50% random setting, plus the return flow, but it is a bit overkill lol.

Do you have a return flow, or no sump? I like to have 2 sources of flow on opposite ends aimed somewhat towards each other. One gyre could be enough depending which corals you will keep, but might have some dead flow spots IMO.

Thx for your input 👍 No sump.. I’m going to be using a OASE Biomaster Thermo 350 full of Biohome Ultimate Marine Media. First time trying a canister so I’m not sure how much flow it’ll generate. I suppose I could start with the one Gyre and go from there.
