Hello,

it's been 42 days since going fallow, then I came across this ich hibernation in anaerobic zone.

my sand bed is max 1 inch. most areas below 1 inch. grain size 3mm ~ 5mm

how deep a sand bed should be to create that anaerobic zone? should I do something? I'm stirring sand every other week during WC.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

That shallow of a sand bed would have any anaerobic zones.

More important for fallow periods is the water temperature. Below 80 degrees can slow things down quite a bit.

There is a thread discussing 45 day fallow periods at the top of the fish disease section here.

before putting fish, or a bit during use maybe some Kick ICH, it doesn't cure fish but it kills the infective stage of ICH, and either way make sure all your fish are in tip top state when putting them in. itll help make the chances of ich returning even lower
