Hey all,

Added my first few fish over the last few weeks and one of my “quarantined” fish brought what I believe to be Ich home with it.

Could someone confirm it and also what the best course of action is.

I do have an old Nuvo 20 I can set up as a hospital tank so I can leave the tank fallow for the 8ish weeks.

Yes, they do seem to have ich. The best treatment would be to move all fish to a QT and treat with copper. You’ll need a copper test kit and a way to keep the ammonia under control in the QT. The worst thing is then you’ll need to leave your main tank fishless for a period of time. 45 days minimum, but many people go 76 days just to be ultra safe.

Sorry, it does look like ich to me. In addition I see some frayed fins that I did not expect. Copper in a hospital tank would be most commonly recommended. Can’t get Hydroxychloroquine. Also hyposalinity would work. Best of Luck!
