My tank: Red Sea Reefer 525XL 140g, 5'x22"
Current stocking:
  • small blue hippo
  • med yellow tang
  • one spot fox face
  • 3x lyretail anthias
  • 2x percula clown
I started out wanting an ich free tank and all my fishes went through formalin bath + 5 transfer TTM + 2 rounds of prazi. But somehow ich slipped through (I have theories, but it is all moot now).

Only my blue tang seems to be affected, and it would ich up after a big maintenance event such as water change and fade out within a week.

I debated between eradication and management. I have a 75g from fellow reefer that I can setup for treatment and go fallow (if I could ever catch all the fishes) when/if things get bad but so far it seems to be under control.

Now if I opt to go with management route, should I still bother with TTMing future fishes? Or just run prazi and hold for 6 weeks?

My planned additions:
  • 3x pj cardinal
  • royal gramma
  • starry blenny
  • 2 wrasses (may be)
  • 2 mandarin (will hold these guys in QT mostly to try to train on frozen)

I would just do Prazi 2x, 5-7 days apart, and observe for 6 weeks. You are mainly watching out for velvet and secondary bacterial infections.

agreed. Worrying about ich at this point isn't going to be helpful. The other biggies though can be prevented :)
