Ich or velvet?

I bought a flame angelfish from petco about a week and a half ago and two days ago i noticed white dots all over it. I quickly removed all of my fish from the display and moved them to QT. i am dosing copper power but i have anemone and coral in my display so i need to know how long to leave it empty for so the parasite dies off. is there a faster way to rid it from my display so i can put my fish back?

I also notice scale sticking up on the back of my angelfish's head looks almost like freshwater dropsy. Is that from the copper or is there another issue i need to be concerned about? i could not get my camera to focus enough to see the scale because the fish wont stop moving.

That looks like Ich to me too, and I think the best treatment is copper in a QT tank.

As far as your DT, you can raise the temp a bit to speed up the lifecycle of the parasite. And, assuming it's Ich and only Ich, then a minimum of 45 days fallow for the DT, though longer is safer.

Yes - that's ich. You need to dose copper power at 2.25 ppm for 30 day for this angel, plus any other fish that were exposed to it. Your invertebrates need to be held in a fishless tank for 60 days at 79 degrees, a bit longer if the tank is cooler.

There’s no real shortcut with ich - keep the display tank fallow for the full recommended period. I’d also keep the fish in QT until treatment is properly completed. The raised scales could be a separate issue, so keep a close eye on them.
