After getting the results from ICP test 810 I dosed all of the recommended amounts, including 144ml of Ba over 7 days. I just received the results of my second ICP test, #779 and Ba is still undetectable. Could something be consuming it that fast? Is it perhaps a test error? After 144ml I expected the needle to move at least a little bit.

HI Steven. It depends a bit what type of filtration you use. Some adsorbers adsorb the Barium very fast. you can add some carbon or zeolites they release some Barium in the water.

That's interesting, all I've got in the tank right now is a skimmer and some carbon. I just don't want to keep pouring it in and end up overdosing.

It's got about 25kg of live rock ("Deep Rocks" from Whitecorals), 9kg of CaribSea Fiji Pink, a few kg of CaribSea Oolite. Salt is FM Pro. I'm dosing the whole US-Style Prime Frag system; Organic, Min S, Amin, Coral Sprint, Balling Light with the higher amount of Trace 1/2/3.

It's probably worth mentioning that the tank is only about 2 months old, perhaps the Barium is being bound up in the rock and sand?

A higher Barium at the beginning is possible due to particles and due to the used rocks. Sometime Barium als can leach through carbon. Till 200 - 250. Barium is harmless so check the level regulary and you can reduce it with PHOS ( Aluminium based adsorber )
