ID damsel

Hello, Wondering if anyone can help me I'd this damsel was sold to me as an azure damsel but looks so much like a sapphire damsel. Can help me out? Also are they aggressive on their own and do they've much bigger. Thanks

Looks like a yellow tail blue damsel, not an azure.

Azure has yellow on its belly as well as its tail. Sapphire are entirely blue with some black speckles.

I agree it looks more like C. parasema. All three of them are easy going damsels. My yellow tail damsel is the wimpiest fish in my tank.

bit of a mixed bag lol guy in the fish store was dead sure it was an azure but i was leaning towards sapphire. really want to get to the bottom of it xD

I agree it looks like a young cyanea


This is where meaningless common names suck. We see the same fish called dozens of names or several species all called the same. Azures should have a yellow belly, yellowtails a yellow tail and springers, at least to me a deeper blue with some black.

when the light is on the moon setting the black is very pronounced across its head and top of body
