So I've had a few of these on my rocks on my tank for the last few months. Not exactly sure what it is, looks more like an algae but could maybe be something living as it does seem to have a pinkish body with clear extensions.

I did some research and came up with nothing was curious if anybody had any ideas.

Can't tell ya what it is, however did you happen to try lionfishlayer.com? They have this hitchhikers guide to your aquarium search option.

They will spread like aptasia though. I have them everywhere. They don’t really bother anything though. The problematic ones get aptasia x.
Its a hitch hiker for sure, in my system its not bothering anything and dosnt speard like aiptasia. It just stays on that one little Rock.

Thank you everyone for your replies I did not expect this thread to get so much traction I will definitely go ahead and jump on the site that was referenced above to see if I could get some further info. I'll let you all know if I confirm what it is again thanks for everyone's two cents.

Literally while writing this my girlfriend looked it up and it's 100% a ball anemone based on a quick Google search. I appreciate everybody pointing us to the right direction.

Just had another update, happened to look around the tank and I have a weirdly shaped rock that's kind of concave and on the back end of it we ended up finding a solid 30-50 of them just hanging out. I did start out with live sand and a few live rocks.
