ID on leather coral

Not sure if this is a pest or a weird growth... Anyone seen this before? It is soft and firm, a bit like the texture of the finger leather.

@BighohoReef What was the name of the coral you snagged for me for the lagoon? Still have it, but that looks a lot like this! Forget the name!
