The thing at the back looks like a species of caulerpa. It will take over if you let it.
its certainly growing ..i guess it absorbs nitrates and phosphates ..im intending to add a tang or rabbit fish to this tank will they eat it ..amazingly this rock is over a year and half old in the tank it went through total neglect 150ppm nitrates phosphates high as and when i could resurrect my tank after my illness it just pops out this and featherdusters ..amazing

Growing macroalgae take up N, P, and lots of trace elements. I think there's a good chance they will eat it, depending on the exact species, what else you feed them, etc. My one spot foxface eradicated a bad caulerpa racemosa problem in my old tank.
