There a hole looking spot in the center of each one

Is the hole tubular shaped?

Looks round and you can see up inside them if you look hard

Definitely sponge. Here's a photo of one of mine. Does this look like the ones you have?

Those are sponges. They are great for a reef and will filter your water and help cement your rock work.
