ID please

Is this a ricordea or a variation of one? I have been in the hobby for a long time however I have never seen a ric this large. The clam is 6" or so for size reference and it expands larger than in the pic.

Looks like some variety of yuma - and I've seen some pretty big yumas at Reef-A-Palooza, but this one would out-class even those!

Haha it is a big one. The only reason I bought it was due to its size. In low light it gets massive. I tried finding ones as big on the Web but no luck. I could be searching for the wrong thing though.

Any particular reason for its size? Maybe just a larger variety or genetics? It seems the baby under it will be large too. Thank you for the ID aswell.

R. yuma can actually get pretty large and are fairly long lived. I have 2 orange yumas that are 4 years in the same spot no babies barely any growth, they can be odd but I love this species ( let's face it I say that about most corals) so this one is likely older. or you have it under dimmer lighting and it's expanding quite a bit but that would still mean it's large. Sorry for such a long reply.

I have an Orange Yuma that's @3"+. I should say many, it just keeps on kicking babies out and I have them all over my tank.o_O
