Hard to tell for certain as the view of the critter is obscured. If I were to be a betting man I would say a Tunicate. Filter feeder. Good.

Thank you both for your experience and time. The algae is ‘stuck’ but it’s exposed body is the whole of that algae covered bit.

I have a few of those on my rock from kp aquatics. Have no idea what they are but they don’t move and I don’t see anything come out of them.

Hey I came across this today. Google Herdmania insolita. I think this is what they are. I have a few different kinds.
