I found this under a Kenya tree I removed. Can't see anything sticking out. Rock is not live, at least it wasn't when I put it in two years ago.

looks like a vermetid snail to me, is the tube stiff/calcified? Do you see any antennae or a strand of mucus coming out some of the time?

The shells (tubes) can stick around long after the organism.

Definitely a vermetid snail. I take bone cutters to them in my tank. I cut down to the base/rock. Removing the tube doesn't do anything. The snail is deep down in the base.
