Hi all

I am a new beginner of saltwater tank. I am running my tank about 11 months. Few day back I have seen that some lime green color is spreading all over my rock.

Is these green hair algae or something else. Please help to identify and how to control that. Some real picture are uploaded for your understanding.

Thanks

Ashraf

Hi! Welcome to Reef2reef !

I'm not 100% sure. But very often green like that is what happens befor purple corraline algae comes in.
It usually happens earlier for most people.

Is it fuzzy at all! Or just hard and stuck to the rock and won't scrub off.

Thanks for your quick response.

It's great to hear that coralline algae is just anted to grow. In such case shall I dose anything ? And how long it may take for purple color.

Thanks again.

Regular water changes are good enough right now. Every tank is different but it should be the next few weeks and you'll see some purple.
