My chromis has a pimple like sore near it's anal fin and it has what look like a flesh sore coming out.

I don't know what it is and these are the best pics I can get. Is it something I Need to get out of the tank as far as contagious goes? I will try to get better pics but he never sits still

Very likely Uronema marinum. See below for more info:

Uronema marinum:

Symptoms - These are the red sores often seen on chromis damsels. The disease seems mostly confined to damsels and clownfish, but I have seen some exceptions to that.

Treatment options - This is a very difficult disease to treat. Possible treatment options include: Metronidazole (ex. Seachem Metronidazole), acriflavine (ex. Acriflavine-MS), Chloroquine phosphate and copper. The problem is the fish can never be returned to the infected tank from which it came. Uronema is a “free living” parasite which does not require a fish host. So, going fallow will not eradicate it. Most fish seem protected from it via their natural immune system; but for some reason, chromis and some other fish are not always afforded this protection. Once a tank has Uronema, it must be assumed that the disease can survive in there almost indefinitely.

Formalin bath or freshwater dip may provide temporary relief for Uronema.

Better pic. Could be uronema. Is it worth trying to treat? should I worry about it with my other fish? Any preventative measures?

I agree. I just noticed it today. I have no clue what could happen like that in a day

Odd looking, if it is iron uronema you only have about a day to get it treated. Very common in chromis BTW, but can wipe a tank easily. That's one reason I don't buy chromis any more.

I have seperated him and I hope the other fish will not get infected. I don't want to lose my snowflake clowns

Could be Uronema; problem is a bacterial infection can also look like that. I would treat with a broad spectrum antibiotic, such as Furan-2 or Kanaplex (or you can combine the two). Also, treat with Metronidazole (ex. Seachem Metronidazole) for Uronema. You can safely mix all three meds. A lot of chedda for just a $4 fish, I know.

Is this a new chromis or have you had him a while?
