Hello from near Canandaigua! My wife and I like to visit Ellicotville often, especially to go skiing

I'm going to say Kessil, because I do like their lights, and their customer service is phenomenal.

I’m not aware of any company that makes everything required for a reef tank, they usually specialize in a few categories. Oh wait, one might, but I don’t buy their products. Lol. I usually go with the cheapest option first and am not loyal to any brand.

Jebao, because its cheap and lasts, (i know most will disagree) I have 2 of each of their pumps, that way instead of having any down time for maintenance, I just swap them out, and dont have to be in a rush to clean them out. Wish they make more stuff, like lights, skimmers....

The problem is that there just aren't many companies that offer everything you need; almost every company is going to have a gap somewhere.

Tunze, for example. I've never been disappointed with a Tunze product; even when it hasn't worked for what I needed it to, the product was designed and built well. But they don't make display lights or heaters, so I'd have to go with someone else for those.

Ecotech doesn't make heaters or skimmers. Kessil doesn't make anything but lights. Maxspect doesn't make heaters. So basically no matter what, there are going to be gaps in what you can buy from a single manufacturer. Even Red Sea (who seems to be trying to branch into everything) doesn't make a heater.

Red Sea. I know the Gen 1 tanks were a disaster, but my Gen 2 has been problem free for going on 3 years. The ReefMat and ReefWave are great, and the ReefLEDs have worked well for me.

With what I know now, I do not believe that there is a one stop shop that does it all.

Maybe the closest is RedSea, to which there are a LOT of reasons I would not go down that road.

There's just too many "bests" that come from different manufacturers, and most of those are tank manufacturers.
