Ok guys,
I have a RS Reefer nano. The sump has one spot for either a skimmer or a fuge. For the past few months ive been running a skimmer and its doing fine. It pulls a ton a gunk but i still have some algae growth in the display even with nutrients under control. Ive actually had to start dosing po4 and no3 because i was starving my corals, which by the way has helped a ton with color and growth. Tonight i was looking in my sump and thinking maybe i should grab a Kessil H80 and pull the Aquamaxx skimmer. I only have room for one. Im thinking maybe some cheato could out compete the algae in my display, especially if i got down and dirty scrubbing my rocks clean. Part of me really likes the idea of my skimmer pumping air into my water but the other part of me likes the idea of algae in the sump and not in the display. Maybe i should hold off though? The tank is only 3 months old, but the rock was in my last tank for a year so its pretty well cycled. Anyways, whats your thoughts?
