Hey all, trying to decide between to RO skimmers at the moment and would love some input.

2 options are the Classic 150 SSS and the Regal 150 SSS. Both are basically the same footprint, but the Regal gets me a VarioS DC pump. Regal is my first choice for the pump and the ability to hook the cup up to an external drain for vacations and what not, but my hang-up is that it's pretty oversized for my tank. Thoughts on this? I am not opposed to setting the skimmer up on a daily timer, but my concern would be whether or not the thing would actually work reliably and consistently in the tank with how little relative bioload there is compared to what it is rated to be able to handle.

I would go with the Regal, with the DC pump it would make it easier to tune as your bioload changes with more fish/as they grow.

Look at the Simplicity 120 DC, great skimmer and really good C/S. They actually answer the phone when you call.
