And the quarantine tank/livestock. Second pic was right after setup. Now there are just 2 rocks at the bottom and still the sand bed, not ideal while quarantining but figured it’d give the flame hawk and midas some comfort. Everything will be taken out and trashed afterwords. Thinking about painting the bottom and back wall and turning it into a coral quarantine/ frag tank after this set of fish is thru.

So this weeks update is pretty disappointing. Moved the 2 clownfish and midas blenny into the dt because the pump on my tidal filter seized up, came home to my qt cloudy and covered with slime. Freaked out and it was too late to go to the lfs so I dumped them in the dt. 3 days later, the clowns look like this

So as I’m waiting for my new filter to come in, I painted the qt back glass and bottom, black. When the new hob filter came in I immediately threw the 3 fish back into the quarantine tank. Really sucks as the clowns were in quarantine for 60 days and the gold midas for 30. The midas is not looking hot at all and the clowns seem fine like always.

And since I’ve had Covid for the past couple of days I’ve been bored out of my mind, so I tried a little wire management and also got my new light fixture hung, a 24” aquatic life hybrid with 4 b+
here’s a pic of the fixture and tank lit up

a pic of what I ended up with on the wiring, not perfect or done by any means but I’m happy with it for now.

A long overdue update, some things going great, some terrible. I had a bad algae bloom that went on for 2 months killing a lot of corals. Half made it and the other half did not. But I’m happy to learn something and progress. Added a uv sterilizer and it wiped it out super fast.
