Dude that sneaky powder u know what im talking about that makes a smoke in the air thats almost invisible get in your nose its genuinely annoying. I always try to open the sachet away from my face

I think you're fine man,as long as you're not snorting the stuff(???)
I get a little everytime I mix anything powdered...

You can look up the SDS on the Hanna website. https://www.documentation.hannainst.com/sds/preview/14773

Looks pretty safe assuming you're still breathing. :) All kidding aside, if you have any reactions of course contact a medical professional but if you feel fine, then I wouldn't worry.

Do you need glasses? I'm thinking you must be holding it near your face if it's getting in your nose. I've been using Hanna checkers for years and test 3 tanks back to back and I've never snorted any of the reagent powder. I hold it far enough away when I'm opening the packs nothing could ever reach my nose.

Iirc @Formulator drank some and he turned out fine..
Hahaha, true story!

Though unfortunately for the OP, inhalation of a powder in this case is somewhat more concerning to me as a biochemist/drug formulator. If it were toxic, you would already be presenting symptoms due to the rapid absorption and metabolism of anything inhaled or “snorted”. But, there are a multitude of possible lung carcinogens and irritants.

Even if you just irritated your mucous membranes and respiratory tract, this time of year you will want to watch out for secondary infection of upper respiratory as well. Just use common sense and be extra cautious; extra handwashing, creating distance from anyone you notice might have a cold, etc.

Did it burn at all? Any lightheadedness?

Looking at the SDS, I think you’ll be alright. I’m assuming it was the zinc powder that got you. Zinc is typically very safe and not toxic.

I did find this, but I think you would need to inhale a significant amount and this kind of thing is mostly encountered in industrial settings where workers are exposed for long periods of time or chronically:

“Inhaling large amounts of zinc dust or fumes can cause metal fume fever, a short-term illness that's usually reversible. Symptoms include throat irritation, chest tightness, coughing, fever, malaise, and muscle cramps. Symptoms typically go away within 24–48 hours without medical intervention”
