It appears I have an imposter red leg hermit. He is living inside of a snail shell. I found an empty hermit crab shell and thought one of the crabs might have died but nope he either murdered a snail for its home or the snail died and crab got a free meal and home. Do hermits usually attack snails? If so I’d rather have snails than crabs so would probably remove them and leave my snails. Also will the crab growing into the bigger shell cause any issues?

Hermits will definitely attack snails if they don’t have access to empty shells or if they aren’t getting enough food

I had one of my hermits attack and kill about 3-5 Snails over the course of 2 months, only for food. Never moved into those shells
