I have just purchased the af4 feeder and also the wifi dongle so i can schedule feedings. Even with the wifi dongle connected and set up, will the unit still auto feed at the same time 24 hours after the unit is powered on? I cant seem to find any info on this

Nope, it basically overrides that initial setting.

Someone was asking me this several months ago in a DM and I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures of how I thaw and rinse my frozen food. I kept forgetting to take pics during the process. I use Hikari flat packs Ocean Plankton, Mysis, & Spirulina Mysis. There is approximately 25% of each type of flat pack of each in the strainer, I let it thaw an hour or so & rinse it for about 10 minutes with RO/DI. I divide that amount equally into six high flow af4 feeder cups. Each cup lasts one week. I feed approximately two cubes, twice per day. The feed amount setting on the feeder that I use is #2, which is about 2 cubes, maybe a bit more. This is the peferct the sweet spot for my tank and keeps my nitrates below 15 & phosphates below .12. I also put about one tablespoon of eggs/roe (Aqua Edibles or the other brand that Algae Barn sells, I forget the name of it) in each cup. I mix 1000 ml of 1.030 saltwater and fill each cup with that after the food & the eggs are in & mix it. That makes the perfect slurry for me. They all go in the freezer, I take one out every Friday night & put it in the fridge to thaw & it gets swapped out every Saturday. Pic 1 is thawing, Pic 2 is rinsing.
