Got this device up & running this evening. I have used the Feed Now button a couple times and the feeder works well. I have the first scheduled feeding set for 10am tomorrow morning and 4 total feedings evenly stretched throughout lights on with the last at 7pm. Starting with 1 cube each feeding & we'll see, may need to increase. Livestock is 2 large Clark's clownfish, 1 exquisite wrasse, 1 yellow coris wrasse, 1 yellow tang, 1 gold lined rabbitfish, 2 chromis, 1 bellus angel, 2 large cleaner shrimp, 1 race line goby, 1 diamond goby, 1 aptasia eating file fish and 1 golden tail dwarf moray. I also have two Hydros feeders that drops flake at the 1pm feeding and the other drops pellets at 4pm feeding.

I hear IND Aquatics has a robot in beta testing that will go to the freezer, get a shrimp tail, thaw it, take off the tank lid, get the tongs & feed your eel.

😂

Here is a quick video of the tank yesterday before the AF4 was hooked up. I'll post a video of the AF4 in action tomorrow. Try not to laugh at my horrible scape & even worse frag mounting skills.

Have one also, it feels my fish 4x a day as well and all controlled by my Hydros.

My fish have learned the times it feeds and they all wait in the corner lol.

How easy is it to hook to Hydros? I have a Launch and am very interested in this feeder…

It is SUPER easy to hook to HYDROS...however, to control it via 0-10v, you will require a 0-10v OUT Port. The Launch has a 0-10v IN Port.

You will require the Control X4 or WaveEngine v2 to trigger feeding times via HYDROS.

My device has been working flawlessly. Once you get the amount of food vs the amount of high salinity SW (I use 1.030) mixed the way you like, it's easy to replicate & seems to work just fine. I am away right now & I can see by the wifi camera that it is working as it should when it should. I bought the wifi controller from IND Aquatics. I haven't ran a clean on it yet. Once I do that I'll do a more in-depth review with photos. I am impressed so far! I feed the smallest amount 4 times per day. I also have Hydros wifi feeders that drop smallest amount of flake & pellet once each per day also.

Time for some anthias! 😃

Connor, Can Kraken power it?

No dice controlling it with X2 or Launch? 😢

Conner, can we power it via the Kraken?

@Ken S How is the feeder working for you. I am looking to get one during Black Friday. That way I don’t have to worry about my fish when I am away for winter break!
I love it! It's been flawless so far! I feed minimum amount 4 times/day. Once you get the slurry correct for the amount you want to feed, you just replicate it & your good. I mix flat pack Hikari mysis, ocean plankton, a bit of spirulina mysis, a good squirt of Ocean Nutrition Fish Roe and a dropper of Selcon. It lasts a week. I add around 30-40ml (I'd say - never measured it actually) of 1.030 SW. I have the 3 extra tubs/lids so I do all the thawing and mixing once a month, one goes in the feeder, 3 in the fridge, change out once/week.

I keep a small pitcher of 1.030 SW in the fridge. I usually add around 30-40ml (again, never measured) to it after 4 or 5 days just to make sure that tub of food makes it the full week (always does).

I have yet to clean the lines, probably should do that soon, but it's functioning perfectly. I'm the type that will wait for some type of malfunction before I'll clean it 😂 but the device works great for me. I would not hesitate to get one.

Awesome! Thank you for the detailed explanation. I am waiting for the Black Friday Pricing to come out (will happen tomorrow according to the company website). My fish will be happier with this than surviving just on pellets when I am away.

Not sure what kind of tank/flow pumps you have but my mp60's are set to go to lowest flow 1 minute before the feeder runs so the food doesn't fly around the tank so fast the fish can't get it before it goes down the overflow. I've seen some people complain about that. Mine is on the lowest setting & it still spits out a lot of food, but it all does gets eaten. Second setting is too much, can't imagine how much would dump in on highest setting 5. I have a moderately stocked 200g Peninsula & food comes in through one of the the return pumps from the sump room and shoots down one side of the tank because I did not want to drape tubes over the side of the tank.

Thanks for the heads up. I currently have two MP40s in a 110g display . I currently feed 3.5 cubes a day. I actually prefer to have the food fly around everywhere since I have a pack of 7 chromis and 3 anthias who are essentially like piranhas and hyper aggressive eaters. With the food floating around everyone some of the less aggressive get a chance. The food is currently consumed in one minute or less. Some amount goes down the return pipe but not much.

I hope to be able to do multi0@3 feedings with the AF4 but am afraid if I feed too little at once the less aggressive eaters won’t get enough to eat (eg, my Copperband eats from the water column but I don’t think he can compete well against the fast moving chromis, anthias, wrasse and tangs). Looking forward to experimenting!
