If you look at them in a DT, is it easy to tell the difference between an infernal and a normal rainbow or rose tip?
 
Yes they all look very different
 
It's very easy. Infernos will typically have yellow in the tentacles, and you may even see a speck of purple at the very end of the tip of each tentacle. Rainbows typically have pink tips.
