Is this an injury on Shadow’s head? I noticed he seems to run into rocks at night when he is zooming around. He has done that since I got him. He is very active, eats well and no other signs of any illness. He is also a very fat fish and has a good weight on him. He has had these about a week now, not sure what to think.

Beautiful fish! Hopefully it's a bump, I know the above mentioned guys will tell you for sure 🙂

Good luck to you and Shadow!

Yeah he is stunning. Planned my whole stocking (minus the eels of course) around him. Ive had him since he was like an inch long. Very interactive fish and will eat out of my hand.

He has been beefing this week with my clown trigger. He chases the clown trigger out of his area few times now.

Nice! Yes, that's a stunning fish for sure, I'm hoping it's a innocent bump, and he will heal up soon, but you know the Fish Medic crew will tell you for sure 🙂

How long have these marks been there?
Appears to be pitting in lieu of injury and not consistent with tail strikes however may be teeth marks from the eel(s) ?
Is fish eating and breathing normal yet?

About a week now and yeah they do appear to be like holes. And I doubt its the eels. He has not been getting along with my clown trigger for about a week. Yes eating and breathing normal and no behavior changes other then being ticked off with the trigger and chasing him all over the tank

I mean maybe one of them got him by accident when feeding? Nebby my zebra eel has horrible eye sight compared to the other 3, shes gotten me a few times

This is to me a suspect cause. I have experience with clown trigger and not in alignment with these marks.

Ah okay. Anything I need to do for him or just keep an eye on him? He seems completely fine other than the marks.

If it becomes red/hemorrhaging, treat with seachem Kanaplex. You can safely add Hydrogen Peroxide at 1 ml per 10 gallons for 5 days which is safe but acts as a disinfectant

Ah okay. Should I do that now or observe?

You can as soon as now
Okay, Ill order some kanaplex. Never used hydrogen peroxide in a tank before and I dont want to do something wrong and harm any of the fish
