Good morning. Some time in the past half hour or so, I started to smell a burning plastic smell near my tank. The only thing that feels hot inside my stand is the plug for my INKBIRD controller (the plug itself was so hot that it was melting).

Obviously I’ve unplugged it and plan to get a new one, but is there anything else I should be thinking about? Does this happen when a heater goes bad?

Do you have your equipment setup on a gfci outlet? I would recommend doing that if all possible. I had a light power brick go bad due to water getting in it, and if it wasn’t for my gfci outlet, it would have started a fire.
