Innovative Marine 150 Lagoon EXT Overflow Level

I setup my 150 Lagoon back in December, overtime I notice the overflow water level change, I adjust the valve accord to the suggest water level in the overflow when I notice it. I have the return pump set a 70% believe it is the Might Jet XL. My understanding is that I need to "tune" the overflow to the flow rate. Any tips on how to do this so the water level does not change in the overflow, or is this a common thing and a nonissue. I dot have an ATO that keeps the water in the sump and I am sure I setup the tank and all the tubing correctly. I believe when the water level in the overflow is lower than usual it is in the tank. I travelled out of state for a couple week, and the water had increased in the overflow, I made the adjustment to the valve and lowered the water level to the optimal level, about 2 weeks ago and today I notice it was lower that usual.

take a picture of your overflow box with main drain, secondary, and emergency with the water level in the box. Traditionally you would tune your main drain with a gate valve until the water is just starting to flow over and into the secondary drain. After that, the level in your overflow box and thus your tank should stay stable. The only reason it would not is if something is wrong with your pump or your gate valve.

Hi Attached is the picture of the overflow this morning. This is after I made an adjustment to the the valve last night. The piping is all correct, the closet short tube is the main drain, controlled by the valve. The middle one is secondary drain. The further one is the emergency that goes to the return pump section. I also heard somewhere there is a break in period and this may happen but I am not sure how much of that is true. I believe a coating of slime or algae can make slight changes in the piping but I don't believe it would be as much as I seen. What percent do most people set their return pumps too, this shouldn't make difference. Actually come to think of it I wonder if it was because I added more sand, I did make the adjustment after adding the sand to where I wanted the water level in the overflow, but it took maybe about a week for the water level to drop in the overflow. I do have an ATO so the water in the sump is the same. I also turned off the return pump before adding the sand.

It looks like the water is not flowing into the secondary drain. If not, close your gate valve more (very slowly once every 20 min or so) until is just starts to overflow into the secondary drain. That will raise your tank level so be prepared for a lot of ATO need. After that your tank level should remain very constant.

I can try that again, that is how I initially set it up, but it dropped below the secondary drain. According to Innovative Marine, it shouldn't constantly flow into the secondary drain just slightly below it.

I do not follow their instructions and run some in the secondary. With some in the secondary it allows there to be some variation and still remain practically the same.
 
I have this tank, I noticed when I wipe the glass the whole thing wobbles. You guys have this problem?? I know the stand is together correctly. Making me real uneasy.
