So I have been lurking for quite some time, checking out builds, looking at everyone’s stuff. I’m posting some older pictures. Doing a mixed reef (minimal fish due to my GF being terrified of fish, I know weird right). Currently I have two clowns, cleaning crew and quite a few zoas in the tank as well as a couple of Acans and Favia. I started the tank about four or five months ago and have just been battling getting everything balanced. Struggling with Alk, nitrates, etc. I think we have finally discovered all of the issues and are on track to getting everything set up.

My question is for anyone who has modded the stand for this tank. As anyone with this tank and stand knows the stand opens from the thinnest side and it is a pain in the butt to get inside, work on, keep organized, etc. I am looking for anyone that has maybe removed the acrylic and turned it into a door (on technically the side)? I was thinking of maybe taking it off and affixing it with magnets or Velcro or something of that nature? I’d really like to do that so that I can get a nice ATO tank to put in there and create some shelving to organize tools and test kits. None of the wires, tubes, etc. have been organized yet waiting to figure out how to get this done. Yes, it is all functional but it is ugly
. Any suggestions or help is much appreciated!
