Heard a loud pop from downstairs this evening and thought something had fallen on the floor. Started to hear my ATO running longer than expected and found my tank had popped. The tank was not grossly off level. Innovative Marine 30L ext which I’ve only owned for 18 months. Anyone have similar experiences or advice on where I went wrong? We are in the middle of planning a move and a larger waterbox tank, but this pop has me spooked about leaking 100 gallons of water all over our floor. Luckily, we caught this one immediately.

So, so, very sorry! Sometimes it is hard to get the IM stand level. What is water— something like 8 pounds a gallon? With what your level shows, plus the way it may have been slightly ‘off’ sitting on the stand to boot, I suppose the water-weight might have been enough for a catastrophe. (Evidently so.) I guess the moral is, always strive for level— not ‘almost level.’ Again, I feel for you.
