Cheap power head and dedicated barrel or garbage can.

Add a little so none falls out of suspension. Wait an hour and keep testing and adding.

I won’t add any residual undissolved salts to the sump.

10 gallons for me.

Fresh salt yields less undissolved salts.

Using refractometer.

I've never had IO leave any undissolved salts behind. Only floating clay

Just did something like this. If you do 35 grams of salt per liter it gives you 1.025 salinity. I mix roughly 32 gallons at a time so that’s 9.35 pounds of salt I think

I splurged on a nice deli scale and through trial and error figured out exactly what to mix in the volume of my mixing container and just did that every time.

alright so i’ve been wondering about this for a while, how many cups of instant ocean salt should I use to get 1.025? the back of the bag gives instructions saying 1/2 cup per gallon for 1.022 but I need 1.025 if I want to get coral and I can’t seem to get it up past 1.21-23. I’ve been adding small amounts of more salt to my dosages (about 1/8th of a cup) randomly to see if it raises it a little (I don’t wanna raise it too much on accident) but it still doesn’t move it much at all. so basically all i’m asking is: does anyone know the exact amount of instant ocean to use for 1.024-26
I use 1 cup per gallon of RODI
