Hey guys, I have a fluval flex 9 that is in the cycling process. I have a question about the stock pump - I was wondering if my pump's suction (like bringing in water) was fine...it doesn't seem too strong. Particles from the sand, tank, etc that are floating nearby the intake only occasionally get brought into the actual back compartment. The tank is brand new so there shouldn't be any clogging of the pump. Not sure if this is normal, I just wanted to get some more opinions.

Also- what kind of media do you guys normally run? I have carbon and biomax right now (what came stock). is there anything else I should consider getting? I have a 4x12in compartment in the back completely free where I can put some more media

Big fan of BioMax. I run it in all of my QTs and always keep a mesh bag of it in the DT sump.
