Can you get a better pic? If your not sure if they are filaments then you should be sure before going further. Are the white spots moving around the body of the coral or just moving in place.

I don’t have a good enough camera unfortunately. Definitely not filaments and yes can see them moving.Numbers are seriously reduced with first treatment

I did the interceptor treatment on my tank about 11 years ago. The one time I did, it worked perfectly and killed all red bugs in my system on the first shot.

Any invertebrates that you wish to keep alive in your system absolutely must be removed. I never notice that I had three Acropora crabs living in my colonies until I found three of them floating around the bottom of my tank.

Once you do it, interceptor really not that big of a deal to do. I happen to have had a skimmer running at the time, but I don’t think it’s a requirement.

Just make sure you have plenty of water for a water change afterwards

So to give a little update of where I’m at. So I removed all the clean up crew I could just leaving behind a shrimp that lives with my goby (he survived), treated the full tank with a full large dog tablet which reduced the number of white bugs but didn’t eradicate them. I am running low on tablets so I removed the worse affected colonies treated them in 20Ltrs with 1/3 of a large dog table which to the naked eye has killed all of them. Haven’t seen one in 2 weeks. Now from past experience I’m sure a few will of survived and are multiplying somewhere behind the scenes so I have ordered some more interceptor from Australia and if/ when they show there faces again I will be doing 3 full tablet treatments over 3 weeks. Hope this thread helps others in the future.

Good to hear and I hope I was right when I said it really isn’t that big of a deal to do an interceptor treatment.

Personally, I’d do one more interceptor treatment just to make sure they’re eradicated, but it seems you have a handle on it.

Exactly a month later, and the little buggers are making a re appearance. Only on one coral though and only 2 or 3 of them. Going to start a 6 week routine of removing the affected coral, treating and then keeping it in the rack for 10-12 weeks to monitor. Unfortunately been a key worker I just don’t have the time for a series of 25% water changes at the moment.

Have you added corals since your last treatment? Are they on the same coral that was an issue previously?
