I know I’ve had red bugs for some time now but struggle to get interceptor. With all my friends/ family with dogs & vet calls all I’ve been able to get is 1 small dog pill of interceptor plus. Can I do anything with this to a 65 gallon tank?

The big dog pill is 23mg and it treats 380g

I would probably just do one dose. It will be higher than normal but that won't hurt anything coral wise. I'd leave it in for 24 hours and turn skimmer back on and do the prescribed water change & carbon.

The carbon and the water change are more for dealing with the die off of the pods, ect. that may be collateral damage. This will reduce nutrient spikes, ect.

Give it a few days and see if all the bugs are gone.

I think there's a commercial product available..............Dr. G coral dip I believe is the name.

Thank you for the reply! I will do that. I have tried to find dr G’s and had no luck. It’s always unavailable or out of stock.

However I found Red Sea dipx which claims to kill red bugs too… I ordered 2 bottles.

Maybe I’ll dose the interceptor and monitor after. Thanks again!

Sooo. I ordered interceptor from the Canada website and the pills I got are different from the photo on the site.

Will this work?

Yes. The prazi is ok. It's half the size of the large chew at 11.5 mg milbemycin so remember that when dosing. Warm rodi and blender mixes it up well for dosing.

Yes, this is what we order and use. Yes, they always send the spectrum, no matter which one you order (just has added prazi). It works great. I advise next time ordering the one for "Large Dogs".

I suggest whoever shared the place and link in this thread edit it out and only share that through DM. I originally shared that source and had a flurry of people purchasing from them and they started to crackdown on sending it to the US.

crackdown? they still shipped it so..........?

I have a 34 gallon. Order small dog chewables and cut it in half? You can use chewables instead of crushing pills and adding to water to dose? If so how low do you leave the chewable in the tank?

Edit: chewable sounds like a soft gummy treat? Is it that or something you can still crush?

The chewables have prazi in them and in high doses can cause issues to corals. The tablets are best. Either way, both need to be mixed in warm rodi and then put in the tank.
