Hello,

I had an opportunity to work on an Home assistant integration for Hydros, it should be considered Beta at this point.
I was only able to test it with the devices I own (X4, MINOW, XP8, water level sensor, rope leak sensor, flow sensor).
I will improve it as time allow, for troubleshooting there is a button to capture a sample configuration and data, please anonymize and/or select subset prior to sharing it if needed.

You can help me test it by installing it: HACS > 3 dots at the top > Custom repositories:
Repository: GitHub - Bitf1ip/ha-hydros: DIY Home assistant custom integration for Hydros Aquarium controllers
Type: Integration

Please read the readme / use a your own risks / this is a DIY effort, I am not affiliated and this is not supported by Coralvue in anyway.

This is very cool. I don't have the equipment to help test it but as a Home Assistant user I'm excited for this sort of project.

I hope one day Hydros gives us local APIs so that we can at least read sensors without the internet. Nothing you can do about this but Coralvue could.....

I think it could work locally with hydros' help, but I do understand why its not just a matter of opening an API with the current architecture.

Thanks for the interest, I'm still looking for someone to figure out if this work beyond just me :)

Cheers

You can use bluetooth to read the sensors without wifi or internet. There is also an emergency mode you can setup before needed and that will also get you in to check outputs and inputs if you are at the controllers location.

This is awesome!! I'm been looking for either an HA integration or Grafana plugin of sorts for Hydros. I've got an X4 and an XP8. I'll check this out and get back to you. Great job!!

Do you know have any links to info or documentation on this?

Click on the left menu in the app and then click the bluetooth icon at the top of the menu to switch to bluetooth mode. It will not let you make any setting changes in that mode but you can set an output to either off, auto or on if you need to do that. Also I have a build thread on R2R you can get to by clicking on the My Tank Thread banner on one of my post. Go to page #10 post #192 for info on emergency mode.
