Introducing New Clown (Wide Bar Black Gladiator)

About 6 months ago I bought a bonded pair of Black wide bar gladiator clowns from my LFS. Within 2 weeks I lost the Male to a malfunctioning power head. This was devastating... It took a while to find another single, which I got from Cultivated Reef. I highly recommend C.R. by the way, super helpful ppl. Now I have the new clown, which is much smaller in size, in a separate box inside my DT with a few small rocks for cover. I plan on keeping him here in the box a few days. I got all my information so far from a nice woman at C.R.

Does anyone have any helpful tips, or things not to do, when introducing the clown? Also, since this little fella is only 1 1/4" long what do I feed him? Is LRS ok?

The established clown should be able to see the new clown.

It can. The box is clear and it seems like the established clown has been checking out the new one.

Watching this. I was just given a 10 year old female last night. She's acclimating but I'd like to have an idea how to introduce a potential mate down the road.

An update... I came home after work to find out my new little clown is a pretty good escape artist. Idk how he got out of his little box but I couldn't have been happier to see these two hanging out together peacefully. His escape could've gone way worse.

So this is kinda related to my original post but... My established clown has discovered the RBTA in the tank. The RBTA has been in there for about 3 weeks and the established clown started hosting it. Since then, the new clown has been on its own more often. Where as before the 2 clowns were together a lot and still are when the the clown isn't hosting it. Is there any known reason that the new clown wont host it as well?

Nothing to worry about, when my female first started being hosted by my Bta she wouldn’t let the male anywhere near for months even though they are an established pair and had been together 6 years! Then the male started being hosted by another one in the tank and she used to go over and kick him out. They both slept in different ones at night. Happy to say they now occasionally hang about in the same one especially round spawning time but the male still prefers to swim around on his own.
