Introducing New Zoas

Whenever i add new zoas it always seems like there is a percentage of die off. Do you guys have any experience with this and any process changes that might stop this from happening?

Tank is just over a year old. All my other corals seem to be doing well and growing.

A bit of both. I find that the smaller polp zoas seem to struggle more than the larger ones.

And the tanks you get them from are healthy? Do you see any pests on them, starfish, slugs, amphipods gnawing on them, etc?

And how quick is the dieoff? 24 hours, days, weeks, months?

Tanks look healthy as do the corals. Die off is usually within a week.

Are you specifically meaning zoa's or are pally's dying? IMO Pally's are very easy but zoa's I find are very picky and some that I introduce don't survive, I think they are mis-rated as an easy beginner coral.

What does them dying within a week look like? Melting? Shrinking until nothing is left? Looking gnawed on?

And is it polyp by polyp one after the other or all at once?

Oh and are they freshly cut and glued when you buy them?
