Very tiny skimmer. Have it breaking in right now. Any tips or tricks to tune it? Designed for 20g tank.

Hi, what brand of skimmer is that? I've never seen it before, thanks.

I’m using their 30 gallon model. It took a week or two to get running well. Don’t worry too much about tuning until the tube gets a good coating of scum on it. That helps the bubbles climb up and drain into the skimmate cup. Once that happens it will operate more consistently and you can fine tune the water level and air flow. The instructions suggested leaving the cup drain open so that it just drains back into the tank during that break in phase. On the model I have the water level adjustment is very sensitive and the key parameter determining how fast skimmate is produced (I.e. wet or “dry”). The air flow control doesn’t seem very critical.

IF YOU HAD TO OPERATE EVERYTHING ELSE MANUALLY, WHICH AUTOMATED SYSTEM WOULD YOU KEEP?
