Hi everyone I recently did an ice test and my iodine was low. Some of my zoas aren't opening up fully, thought this might be the reason why. Based on the reading I've done there's a lot more cons than there are pros to iodine dosing. Just wanted to know if anyone thought that it would be worth it. Practically all my other zoa colonies are fully open and growing, it's just one that isn't. Wasn't sure if the risk would be worth the reward since all my other zoa colonies and corals in general are doing spectacular.
When I did my first ICP test, iodine was through the roof. Only culprit, my feeding fresh whole shrimp minced, and maybe other foods high on iodine, kelp high in iodine. My corals did fine with high iodine.

Here 1 of 17 carnation corals, dendronephthya sp.
Here's Scleronephthya 1 of 22 (yellow one)

I maintain iodide in the 0.03-0.06 range and deliver by the ATO.
Iodide is beneficial to the growth of leathers, gorgonians and helps shrimps molt with less stress.
