Iron levels high on bolth icp tests

Hi I just did 2 different icp tests about a month apart both show high iron levels as shown in the picture. The first test showed 5ug/l and the second one shown in the picture showed 7.6ug/l. I looked over my tank and did find rusting on the screws of my stand. Whats weird is nickle, zink,copper, and other metals are not detected or really low in the red and i thought rusting equipment would spike those as well. l I'm going to replace the screws but what would you guys recommend to lower the iron levels?

I wouldnt worry about Iron at that level unless you have acros fluorescing green. People dose higher iron for dinos in a lot of cases.

I don't have corals right now i have some coming in though a monti,stylo,psamicora,chalice, and candycanes. The icp test made it sound super serious lol over 500% the recomended levels. Thank you for your advice made me feel a little better.

No problem, I would take the time to figure out where the iron is coming from while you have no coral, but Ive had mine as high at 12ug/l and still dose it regularly.

Gfo can be a cause of excess trace iron. Make sure nothing is leaching iron that could leach something else like zinc.

Thats good to know and you didn't see any ill affect s at that lvl? This is the only thing I can think that would be elevating it.

I forget what the margin of error is on icp-oes for Iron. Could also be a false positive if you used the $50 one. I personally wouldn’t do anything at this stage outside of regular maintenance and wait till your next test to hint at a trend. Seachem makes an iron test kit that is also low accuracy but may bring you comfort that it is t getting unreasonably high.

I wouldn't expect that to be the source. Almost every cabinet has rusty hinges at some point.

I don’t think there is any concern. That level is much lower than some companies recommend and some folks maintain.
